Do not let anything die

As women, we carry a different kind of responsibility- to love, to care, to nurture; to facilitate an environment in which life can grow and flourish- both in the womb, and out- for many years. There is a lot riding on our capacity to get these conditions right, and doing so often comes at a high cost- to self, to identity, to our own health, and well-being. Yet, some kind of inherent, ancient wisdom guides us to keep giving. It is an honor, and a joy- but it can feel that our love stretches so thin at times, we could not possibly love, or have time for any other entities (particularly house plants). This painting celebrates our magic, and represents the cyclic nature of all things- including our feelings of love, depletion, resentment, guilt, capacity, identity, spirit, and energy- because, like the moon, they always wane, and then- come around again.
